Childhood multisystem inflammatory syndrome

The picture of the clinical effects of the COVID-19 virus in children has become clearer with recent case reports and case series. We are still not sure where this pandemic will take us, but The Archivist wanted to highlight the emerging disorder of a multisystem inflammatory syndrome in children associated with this virus. A case definition was first published in the UK in April 2020 (PIMS-TS) (https://ift.tt/2E2aCw7) and since then, further case presentations with different clinical patterns have added to the understanding of this syndrome. The Multisystem Inflammatory Syndrome in children (MIS-C) has recently been offered as a new term. In the New England Journal of Medicine two case series have been published.
